Thought CROCS Were The Nadir? Meet FitFlops

nymag.com — If you've taken the subway recently, we're sure you've seen FitFlops, the thick-soled thongs that destabilize your foot, so wearers use lower-body muscles with each step. Today, the Sun reports sales are on the rise, claiming more than a million... more

I just have to weigh in to say that I ADORE my Gladiator Fit Flops which I bought online at kirnazabete.com. Not only are they totally chic (I wear them with my Stella McCartney dresses and Parkinson beach coverups), but they are extremely comfortable and the PERFECT city shoe for all the walking we do here! I love Kirna Zabete and think they have an amazing mix, so I would recommend any stylish girl to go get herself a pair quickly as I hear that they are selling out any day now!

i have to say i was wary of the claims myself but bought them b/c "hey! you never know." Well.. 2 months later.. my calves are not toned more than regular flip flops BUT they are soooo comfortable.. who cares!! They are great to wear to/ from work and to the beach. Plus, they have more stability and arch than 99% of the flip flops that people wear that I am sure my feet are better off just for that.

I find Fit Flops comfortable and do feel a bit more exertion wearing them compared to the typical sandal or sneaker. Do I think they will replace real workout sessions? Of course not, and anyone who does is delusional. But taking them for what they are--comfortable, casual shoes that provide a bit of increased muscle activity--they are great for the price.

I think you raise a good point SIXANDSEVEN. Anyone expecting to slip a pair on and lose 20lbs is going to be disappointed. Where they really make a difference is when worn when walking good distances or when you're on your feet a lot. They tend to increase muscle activation by about 10-12% so if you don't walk anywhere that's 10-12% of nothing.
